The explanations are not the paywalled part. Capping the volume rather than the teaching is deliberate: a practice question without its explanation is just a score.

Is this practice test in the 2026 format?
Yes. Four sections in the order Reading, Listening, Writing, Speaking, all twelve current task types, stage-adaptive Reading and Listening, and 1.0–6.0 band scoring averaged across sections.
Does the practice test give me a band score?
It gives a band estimate per section and a total once all four sections have data. The total is the average of the four, so it stays blank until every section has been attempted — averaging over missing sections would overstate it.
How accurate is the band estimate?
It is an estimate from your answers, calibrated on task-type accuracy, and it becomes meaningful after around 40 answered questions. It is not an official ETS score and we label it as an estimate everywhere it appears.
